Toho has released the final trailer for “Godzilla Minus Zero,” the follow-up to “Godzilla Minus One.” The story is set in 1949, two years after the events of the previous film.

Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, writer and visual effects supervisor, and Naoki Sato is back to handle the score. Returning cast members include Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe, joined by Min Tanaka as a biologist.

The film opens in Japanese theaters on November 3, “Godzilla Day,” the anniversary of the original film's 1954 release. It will also arrive in North America, Europe, Latin America and other regions that same week. It is the first time a Japanese-produced Godzilla film has opened in Japan and North America in the same week. It is also the first Japanese film shot to the “Filmed for IMAX” standard.

Expectations are high: “Godzilla Minus One” won the 2024 Oscar for best visual effects, the first for a Japanese film in that category.
