Nintendo has released Switch 2, the new version of its hybrid console. It keeps the original idea of being able to play on the TV or in handheld mode, but with a bigger screen and more power.

The new Joy-Con controllers attach to the console magnetically and can be used as a mouse in compatible games. The console also debuts GameChat, a feature for talking and sharing your screen with friends while you play.

The headline launch title is “Mario Kart World,” which goes for a connected open world instead of separate tracks. Alongside it came “Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour,” a kind of guided tour of the new hardware features.

The console is compatible with the vast majority of games from the original Switch, so players can keep using their existing library.
