Osaka is hosting a world expo again more than fifty years after its 1970 edition. Expo 2025 runs from April 13 to October 13 on Yumeshima, an artificial island in Osaka Bay.

The chosen theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” and countries from around the world are presenting their ideas in their own pavilions.

The most recognizable feature of the site is the Grand Ring, a huge circular wooden structure designed by architect Sou Fujimoto that surrounds much of the pavilion area and can be walked along on top.

The official mascot, Myaku-Myaku, with its red and blue design covered in eyes, has become one of the most talked-about characters of the event both in Japan and abroad.
